It starts with a sensible question: can we invite another group of candidates? Then someone opens a spreadsheet to check how many assessment credits are left. The hiring conversation has become a purchasing conversation.

Unlimited assessments remove the per-test charge from that decision. To evaluate the model properly, compare the whole subscription and the workflow it supports, rather than treating one pricing label as the entire budget.

The short answer

LunaPrompts includes unlimited tests across its subscriptions. Your team can use assessments throughout its hiring process without paying a separate fee for each test.

Plan an expanding campus campaign

Start with 500 assessments

A fictional campaign needs one relevant assessment per candidate.

Illustrative fee: $12 per completed test
The calculator below uses editable examples, not competitor prices.
Original editorial example. Select a step to pause and explore it. The full scenario is explained below.

Consider a fictional graduate campaign with 1,500 intended completed assessments. At an illustrative $12 per completed test, the variable test charge is $18,000. If a comparable subscription costs S and includes the required assessment usage, that comparison becomes $18,000 plus the other provider’s fixed costs versus S plus any separately scoped services. Neither side is a quotation.

Ask what counts as a billable event. Invitations, starts, completions, retries, and follow-up tests are different units. A low quoted unit price is difficult to interpret until you know which events consume it. Also establish the period covered by the subscription and whether the environments or support you need are included.

Operational capacity is a separate calculation. If a reviewer spends an assumed ten minutes on each of 120 shortlisted submissions, the team needs 20 reviewer hours. Unlimited tests do not remove those hours. Schedule review capacity and candidate updates before expanding the invitation pool.

The useful purchase decision balances predictable platform costs with a purposeful candidate journey. If an additional test answers no new hiring question, remove it even when its marginal platform charge is zero.

Plan around the role you need to fill

Per-test pricing can make recruiters weigh the cost of an assessment before they have enough information about the candidate. Unlimited tests remove that particular tradeoff.

You can decide who should take a relevant assessment based on the hiring process you want to run. That matters when a resume is inconclusive, when several teams are hiring simultaneously, or when a role needs more than one type of evaluation.

LunaPrompts uses a subscription model with no additional per-test charge. Your plan defines the other features and services available to the team, so you can discuss the full hiring workflow alongside the assessment volume.

Where unlimited testing is especially useful

Campus and graduate hiring

A campus intake can involve a large group of applicants before your team knows how many are a good fit. Unlimited tests let you plan the assessment stage around the candidate pool and the skills you need to evaluate.

Hiring across several teams

Backend, data, and AI roles may open together. Each can need a different assessment. A shared subscription model helps the recruiting team support those workflows without allocating a separate test-credit budget to each role.

Reopened roles and changing requirements

When a hiring manager changes the role's scope, the assessment may need to change too. The absence of a per-test charge makes it easier to plan a relevant evaluation without treating the previous test spend as a reason to preserve an unsuitable process.

Keep the candidate's time in the calculation

Unlimited tests do not make a longer hiring process better. Each stage still needs a clear purpose. Tell candidates how long the task should take, what it evaluates, and how it fits the next step.

For the hiring team, a useful measure is whether the assessment answers a decision-making question. A short, well-targeted task can be more valuable than several loosely related tests, even when there is no additional test fee.

A review framework your team can use

The following is an editorial checklist for this workflow. Adapt it to the role, the candidate journey, and your configured environment.

Review areaWhat to establish
Billable unitInvitation, start, completion, or another event
PeriodMonthly, annual, or campaign-specific
Included workRequired formats, environments, and review tools
Other costsSetup, services, support, and internal review time
A mistake worth avoiding

Avoid claiming savings from test volume alone. You need comparable plan scope, real quotes, and the correct billing unit to calculate a defensible difference.

TRY THE NUMBERS

What does a per-test charge add up to?

Editable assumptions, not vendor quotes. This calculates only the variable test charge.

LunaPrompts adds no per-test charge within its subscription model. Compare actual subscription prices, included capabilities, and separately scoped services before drawing a savings conclusion.
